Originally calling themselves the Steaming Cow Patties, this eclectic group formed just outside of Nashville. In 1994, they changed their name to Cow Pie and a world tour followed.
The course of nature caused some members to disappear, but two original members are still firmly in place, continuing with a variety of new members, continuing to bring the special ambience of Cow Pie to fans. From the plains of Wyoming to the fields of England, Cow Pie has left behind an impression not soon to be forgotten. The band's most exuberant fans, referred to lovingly as Mushroomheads, or Shroomers, eagerly look forward to the next dose of Cow Pie.
It was in 1995 that the original Cow Pie flew across the globe, leaving a mark on venues from Kabul, Afganistan, to Licking, Kentucky (US), with the first of three "Watch Your Step" tours. It was during this time that the phenomena of Mushroomheads took hold.
Nashville music journalist Reginald Z. Imfph wrote of them: "When Cow Pie is in front of you, all your senses will register it. The impact is stunning and, indeed, hard to shake. ... 'Shroomers' were a natural progression from Cow Pie's effect."
